Annual Convention Preparations - Ladies Venue

Australia’s 29th Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) will be held, God willing, on the grounds of the Baitul Huda Mosque in Sydney, on the 4th, 5th and 6th October 2013. At this event we will be blessed with the presence of the fifth successor of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba).

Preparations have been well under way from August with the Ladies' and Young Girls' Auxiliaries having started poem practices and auditions. All departments were set up, duties divided and the Promised Messiah's Kitchen was functioning in full force. By September layouts of the Jalsa areas were finalised and marquees were set up as according to the plans to accommodate each department’s needs well before time. From mid-September we had started utilising the extended car parking areas with the main parking area reserved for pick and drop, elderly or specific duty holders that require their transport. This year there will also be a shuttle bus from the extended and overflow parking to the main entry gates.

Due to security issues it was advised by all Area secretaries to inform all members to make their permanent ID cards. Also members in the community with special needs ie: food and accessibility were noted in order to be looked after accordingly. Guests not of the Ahmadiyya faith who were interested in visiting the Annual convention have been sent invitations and attendees have been noted. The attendance for this event is expected to be over 5000 members, with a number of international guests attending as well.

This being the last weekend before His Holiness arrives has been an exciting weekend for all. The Respected Naib Amir (second in charge), Nasir Khalon, along with the Jalsa Gah (area) secretary and Jalsa Raabta (coordinator) secretary insoected every department in the Ladies Jalsa Area to ensure everything is running smoothly. Respected Naib Amir advised to pay special attention to the increased number of international guests expected this year and to ensure their registration is processed smoothly.

We look forward to bringing you more highlights and guest interviews from the Ladies Jalsa proceedings. Till then we request prayers from all for all the volunteers’ working day and night to ensure we all have a smooth, safe and enjoyable convention.
