Service to Humanity
Cleanup Australia Day 2010
On Sunday the 7th of March 2010, large groups of people from various communities around Australia took part in the Clean Up Australia Day.

Out of 7084 Clean Up Sites registered around the nation, the 'Cleanliness is Part of Faith' group representing the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Australia had the most number of volunteers totalling 217 members and raised the highest number of funds totalling $ 665.00, with Channel 9 covering this feat in their evening news on the day.
Below is the article published in the Rouse Hill Times dated the 17th of March 2010 and the link published on the Rouse Hill Times website:

Blood Donation
The verse of the Holy Quran, which so comprehensively covers the concept of service to humanity, reads:
"O people of Islam, you are the best people ever raised for the good of mankind because you have been raised to serve others; you enjoin what is good and forbid evil and believe in Allah." (3:111)
The new Khuddam year started with a high note. After years of trying the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Australia had the privilege of getting an approval from the Red Cross Mobile Blood Bank and Ameer Sahib to anchor at the mosque. It coincided with Eid ul Adha on the 28th of November 2009 and ironically, it was all about sacrifice.
Though it was organized under the Khuddamul Ahmadiyya banner Lajna and Ansar were invited to participate too. The response was overwhelming, with a big effort from Lajna Secretary Khidmat-e-Khalq saw the appointment list fill quickly.
Ansar members volunteered on the day and Sydney Khuddam filled in the rest. By the Grace of Allah, it was a great success. 10 Khuddam from Sydney Majalis including Majlis Bait-Ul-Huda, 10 Lajna members and 10 Ansar members ended up donating blood on the day. A big thank you to all who donated and all those who volunteered but had to miss out due to time restraints.
The gesture was well accepted by the Red Cross as our sacrifice towards humanity and thus living up to the status of “Service to Mankind is the Essence of Islam.”
The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) emphasized love, sympathy, and kindness towards all. He also emphasized that we must show each other great appreciation. He said, "One who is not grateful to mankind is not grateful to Allah." (Tirmidhi)

The Jalsa Salana 2010 Committee has approved the donation of blood by KHUDDAM & ANSAR members on SATURDAY 3rd APRIL, 2010 at the Baitul Huda Mosque, Sydney.
The blood will be collected by the Australian Red Cross Mobile Blood Bank Service (ARC), from 9am to 5pm. We expect to make 80-100 donations (if both mobile buses are available). It is a holiday season and blood is normally in high demand at this time, so we will be doing great service to Mankind.
The previous blood bank on Eid ul Adha day went well and any shortfalls have been addressed. An interpreter will be available if required and it is utmost mandatory for donors to fill their own forms.
